Firefox Add-ons for Designers

First of all, I have upgraded to Firefox 3.5, so all add-ons in this post are 3.5 compatible. With that being said, I’ve used Firefox for some time now. Many add-ons have come and gone, but this is a list of my tried and true.

  • Firebug – Web Development Evolved.
  • ColorZilla – Advanced Eyedropper, ColorPicker, Page Zoomer and other colorful goodies.
  • Gmail Notifier – A notifier for Gmail accounts.
  • GButts – Display all of your Google Services as buttons just next to you β€œHome” button.
  • Scrapbook – Helps you to save Web pages and organize the collection.
  • Tab Mix Plus – Tab browsing with an added boost.
  • MeasureIt – Draw out a ruler to get the pixel width and height of any elements on a webpage.
  • Better GCal – Enhances Google Calendar with a compilation of user scripts and styles.
  • Better Gmail 2 – Enhances Gmail with a compilation of useful features written by Greasmonkey user script developers.
  • Better GReader – Enhances Google Reader with a compilation of user scripts and skins.
  • Blank Canvas Gmail Signatures – Insert multiple HTML signatures into your Gmail emails.
  • FireShot – Adds the ability to take a screenshot of the page entirely, edit it and save in (JPEG, GIF, PNG or BMP), print, copy to clipboard, send to external editor or e-mail it.
  • Please comment on any that you think should have made the list.
