Since using twitter over the past couple of months, it has become very apparent to me how many people still have no idea what twitter is or why anyone would use it. This is an attempt to present Twitter from my perspective.
Who?
Something like 12 million people are using Twitter. With that being said, not everyone is using Twitter because twitter is not for everyone.
What?
Twitter is like a blog (journalism for everyone). Actually it’s a microblog, meaning a small blog. You have only 140 characters to say what’s on your mind.
Where?
Twitter, like other social services can be used from your trusty old computer or via mobile device.
When?
The best thing about twitter is that it is real time. Its worldwide following is constantly making updates which is making it an ever more popular search engine.
Why?
Probably the most popular question posed by non-Twitter users. The short answer is “It depends”. Personally, I use Twitter to connect with the design community. The people I follow are constantly updating recent design news or current projects. Twitter can also be used as a way to inform the public of emergencies, provide customer support, or follow celebrities.
How?
